I went to a great meetup yesterday and was reminded that insulin is not the only hormone that contributes to metabolic syndrome. Cortisol, a lesser but still significant factor, can wreak havoc on your metabolism as well. It’s a common response to stress, be that physical, mental, emotional, et al.
I was reminded how you can counter this response with meditation. I like to meditate on God’s Word and the life it gives. One of my favorite verses comes from Matthew, chapter 11 verse 28
“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
